WOC, Inc. Recipient of the Community Foundation Focus 2025 grant

Work Opportunity Center, Inc. (WOC, Inc.) is pleased to announce it is a recent recipient of a $20,000 Focus 2025 grant from the Community Foundation of Western MA.  The money awarded will be used towards general operating costs, with a specific focus of expanding our Community Based Services (CBDS) program into the Holyoke/Chicopee area.

WOC, Inc. is an organization that is both a day and a work program for individuals with developmental & intellectual disabilities.  Our organization's overall goal is to provide opportunities for program participants to enhance and enrich their lives.  These opportunities are given in various ways throughout the agency.  Within the CBDS program, we offer opportunities to learn through teaching as well as community experiences to help program participants with all aspects of their lives including: Health & Wellness, Life Skills, Education, Social Growth, as well as Employment & Volunteer skills. The goal of the two work programs we operate is to give people employment opportunities so they can be successful with the greatest independence and social inclusion possible.  WOC, Inc. strives every day to give people the skills they need to become contributing members of the Greater Springfield area.  The vision from the beginning of opening and operating our CBDS program was to provide those services in the communities in which our participants reside.  The agency currently has 3 building facilities located in Westfield, West Springfield and Springfield.  Participants attend the facility closest to where they live.  The goal is to expand the Employment & CBDS programs into the Holyoke area to serve the needs of current program participants who live in that area as well as expand the ability to serve more people when we open a new CBDS programming site.
