Karen Tetreault on Generosity and Connection with the Springfield Regional Chamber
At the heart of the Springfield Regional Chamber’s mission is a commitment to supporting local businesses through strong community connections – dedication that is perfectly embodied by our Senior Executive Assistant/Coordinator, Karen Tetreault, who recently joined the Chamber full-time after more than 16 years at the Western Mass EDC. As a vital part of the Chamber team, Karen’s extensive experience and collaborative ethos are driving the Chamber’s mission forward and serving the community she’s passionate about.
Karen’s investment in the local community is reflected not only in her Chamber role but also in her broader contributions. She has served on the Board of Directors for both Dress for Success, when it was first initiated in Western Mass, and Unify Against Bullying, further showcasing her commitment to uplifting and supporting those around her.
A familiar face at Chamber events for years now, Karen’s deep-rooted local investment and wealth of knowledge bring invaluable perspective and enthusiasm to her role. Working closely with President Diana Szynal, the SRC Board, and our membership, she ensures that the Chamber continues to grow.
Karen’s passion for the Chamber is evident in her enthusiasm for its events, especially our Super 60, Government Reception, Mayors Forum, and Outlook events – each offering unique opportunities for members to learn and connect. It’s impossible to pick just one favorite, because she finds each event to be special in its own way!
When reflecting on her favorite aspects of her involvement with the Chamber, Karen first jumps to the diverse resources available to members. She highlights that the Chamber offers “a wealth of information, from events and legislative advocacy to the Leadership Institute, Ambassador Program, and Job Board. Most importantly, the networking environment can inspire and grow your business through new connections locally, regionally, and across the state.”
Outside of her professional commitments, Karen enjoys the simple joys of life – an ideal day features spending time with family and friends, diving into a good book, or catching up on her favorite Netflix series. A fan of Barry Manilow, she cherishes the memory of singing “Can’t Smile Without You” with her son every morning on the way to daycare and kindergarten. And when it comes to food, Karen’s heart (and taste buds) belongs to veal parm and spaghetti at Carmelina’s in Boston’s North End, followed by a mandatory visit to Mike’s Pastry.
Karen’s contributions to the Chamber and our community are truly appreciated, and we are thrilled to have her on our team in such a vital role. She exemplifies the dedication, collaboration, and growth that define the Springfield Regional Chamber. If you’re looking to connect, learn, and grow within our community, Karen is a shining example of what makes our Chamber so special!
