Glenmeadow Receives Innovation & Impact Award from LeadingAge Massachusetts
LONGMEADOW, Mass., (October 19, 2026) – Glenmeadow Retirement Community is proud to announce that it has received the 2026 Innovation & Impact Award from LeadingAge Massachusetts in recognition of its annual Age of Excellence Awards program.
The award was presented on Wednesday, October 14, during LeadingAge Massachusetts' 72nd Annual Meeting and Awards Celebration at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. Joining Glenmeadow staff members for the celebration was Brenda Garton-Sjoberg, a 2026 Age of Excellence honoree who also served as emcee for Glenmeadow's third annual Age of Excellence Awards celebration in September.
The LeadingAge Massachusetts Innovation & Impact Award honors a member’s creative, forward-thinking program, practice, or initiative designed to transform aging services, enhance quality of life, and advance service excellence. Glenmeadow's Age of Excellence Awards was honored for its commitment to celebrating the accomplishments, contributions, and lasting impact of older adults.
Launched in 2024, the Age of Excellence Awards celebrate individuals aged 60 and older who continue to make meaningful contributions to their communities. Over the past three years, the program has recognized 27 honorees selected from more than 100 public nominations, highlighting individuals whose leadership, service, creativity, and dedication inspire others.
“When we first envisioned the Age of Excellence Awards three years ago, our hope was to spotlight older adults who make a meaningful difference in our communities,” said Dr. Kathy Martin, President and CEO of Glenmeadow. “To see how this program has grown and the incredible individuals we've had the privilege of honoring is rewarding for what it means for older adults – impact doesn’t have an age limit. Receiving the Innovation & Impact Award from LeadingAge Massachusetts is a tremendous honor and a meaningful recognition of what we set out to accomplish.”
Through this annual celebration, Glenmeadow aims to challenge traditional perceptions of aging, share inspiring stories, and recognize the many ways older adults continue to enrich the communities around them.
Receiving the Innovation & Impact Award reflects Glenmeadow's ongoing commitment to promoting positive aging and creating opportunities to recognize the experiences, achievements, and contributions of older adults.
