CSO / Friends of the Homeless - Drives, Toys & Volunteer Groups
This holiday season, community behavioral health agency Clinical & Support Options is asking local businesses and office teams to consider a "Workplace Giving" initiative for the holiday season benefitting adult individuals experiencing homelessness and low-income families. The nonprofit suggests three possible opportunities:
· Donation Drives for 'Friends of the Homeless' — CSO's Springfield emergency shelter is in need of *new* winter clothing items (coats, gloves, hats, socks, and underwear) and everyday toiletries.
· Gift Sponsorship for Low-Income Youth — CSO has collected more than 400 child holiday "wishlists" from low-income client-families. Choose families to sponsor and help fulfill their seasonal toy-buying.
· Volunteer as a Group — CSO's shelter on Worthington Street needs committed volunteers to help serve hot, healthy meals and to conduct cleanup projects and enrichment activities (arts/crafts, games, and more).
If your business or group is willing and interested in participation, please reach out to Development & Volunteer Programs Manager David Furioni via email to volunteer@csoinc.org. (Please Note: the shelter space and staff cannot accommodate unscheduled drop-offs of items; all donations must coordinated prior, please).
