About

Hope for Youth and Families empowers Springfield youth through free programs in the arts, literacy, and through the college readiness and acceptance process.

Through high-quality programs we provide Springfield youth with the resources to learn, explore, and build brighter futures.

At the heart of the organization is a commitment to equity by removing barriers so that cost is never an obstacle to participation.

Hope for Youth and Families works in 3 major areas.

Innovative Reading

This initiative supports literacy through programs designed for striving readers in middle and high school. Using engaging, research-based methods, the program helps students build critical reading skills while fostering a lifelong love of learning.

College Bound

Designed to guide students on the path to higher education, the program offers career and college choice counseling, application guidance, and financial aid counseling.

Arts Education

This program, housed at “The HOPE,” offers free after-school programs in dance, theater, music, photography, creative writing, media arts, visual arts, and more. Young people learn alongside professional teaching artists in a state-of-the-art performing arts center, building skills, confidence, and community.
