Creating Successful Workforce Development Pathways through Employer Engagement

Presented by the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security in Partnership with the Springfield Regional Chamber, the Department of Correction, and the Municipal Police Training Committee.
Attendees will hear from a multi-disciplinary team from EOPSS, DOC, the Springfield Regional Chamber, and MassHire, focused on developing employment partnerships and preparing incarcerated individuals for successful reentry into the workforce.
Additionally, the forum will provide presentations on:
- DOC education and hands-on vocational training programs in Culinary, Automotive, Welding, Manufacturing, and Carpentry
- Prolific tablet technology/access resulting in certifications and training completions
- New EOPSS/DOC workforce development model prepping clients closest to release for employer in-reach, application, interview, and placement
- Tax incentives and bonding opportunities available to employers when hiring a client
- Current partnership and upcoming expansion with state-wide MassHire staff/career centers
