President's Message - November 2024
President's Message - November 2024
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s Super 60 Awards celebration! It was inspiring to honor the extraordinary accomplishments of local businesses and nonprofits that are making a lasting impact in Greater Springfield. Congratulations to our outstanding winners—your dedication and hard work is what strengthens our community and enriches our region.
I’d like to extend special thanks to everyone who helped make Super 60 a resounding success—the nominators, our sponsors, the Chamber’s Board of Directors, our Executive Committee, our hosts at the MassMutual Center and our incredible Chamber Ambassadors. We especially want to recognize our keynote speaker Tania Barber, CEO of Caring Health Center, Inc., who shared her story of resilience and perseverance, as well as our emcee, Rich Tettemer of WWLP-22News, who once again brought energy and warmth to the event. We couldn’t do this without you!
Mark your calendars—our Super 60 winners will be honored again on December 6th at the Springfield Thunderbirds game against the Bridgeport Islanders. We hope to see you there to continue celebrating these outstanding organizations!
In addition to celebrating achievements, November has been an important time for reflection on the policies that shape our business environment, particularly following a recent election season that presented a range of critical issues. Last month, we hosted a timely Rise & Shine event on understanding the 2024 ballot questions, and we hope you found it helpful as you headed to the polls. At the Chamber, we are committed to ensuring that our members have the information they need to make informed decisions, and we look forward to supporting you in understanding the outcomes and their potential impact on our community.
As we look to the new year, we’re excited to bring our members together for two events in January. First, on January 9th at Bay Path University, we’ll be hosting a Rise & Shine breakfast focused on celebrating our local nonprofits. These organizations work hard, often behind the scenes, to support our community’s most vulnerable members and drive real impact in our economy. It’ll be a wonderful morning to learn more about the people and missions that make a difference in our community.
Then, on January 23rd, we’re holding our annual Government Reception at Storrowton Tavern. This is a gathering where you’ll have the chance to connect with local, state, and federal officials, as well as other community and business leaders. It’s a great opportunity to have some direct, meaningful conversations with the people who represent us.
With Thanksgiving next week, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your continued support, involvement, and commitment to our Chamber community. I hope you’re looking forward to enjoying some good food, great company, and perhaps a well-deserved break. As we reflect on all we’ve accomplished together this year, I’m truly grateful for the strength and spirit of our members. We wish you a joyful Thanksgiving filled with warmth, laughter, and plenty of pie!
