There’s always a noticeable shift this time of year. Summer isn’t quite over, but calendars are beginning to fill again, and soon our busy fall will be underway.

While things may have seemed a little quieter at the Chamber this summer, there has been plenty happening behind the scenes. We’ve been preparing for another year of exciting events to bring our business community together, while also thinking about how we can continue making your Chamber membership as valuable as possible.

That work recently took me to New Orleans for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) Annual Meeting, where I joined more than 1,000 Chamber professionals from across the country. The conversations covered everything from workforce and economic development to AI, leadership, communications, and government relations. 

It’s always valuable to step outside of our own organization and learn what other Chambers are doing and how they are approaching similar opportunities and challenges.

I came home with plenty of notes and fresh ideas that I’m excited to put to work right here at home.

And now, we get to put all that preparation into action!

One of our favorite traditions is already underway, with nominations open for the 37th Annual Super 60 Awards. So many businesses and nonprofits across Western Massachusetts are growing, giving back, and making an impact, and Super 60 gives us the opportunity to recognize the incredible work they are doing. Nominations close September 11. Then later this year, we’ll celebrate this year’s honorees together on November 6 at the MassMutual Center.

Super 60 is only the beginning! Our 2026–2027 calendar is filled with events and opportunities for every member, with sponsorship opportunities available throughout the season for businesses looking to build their visibility across our Chamber community.

As we gear up for the fall, I’m feeling energized by what’s ahead. There are plenty of new ideas in my notebook and so much to look forward to. Most of all, I can’t wait to reconnect with all of you and see what this next Chamber year brings.
