President's Message - April 2026

President's Message - April 2026

April has a reputation for keeping us on our toes, but lately, the surprises have been the kind you’re glad you didn’t miss. And this year, it didn’t take long for that to prove true. The past few weeks have already set a strong tone, with the kind of engagement and activity that signals a season well underway. Whether it was rolling up our sleeves to support neighbors in need or starting the day inspired by stories of perseverance and opportunity, March and April have already been filled with moments that reflect the strength and spirit of our region.

I want to begin by thanking everyone who joined us for our 3rd Annual Fill the Food Bank event and our April Rise & Shine Breakfast: Chasing the American Dream. Both events were strong reminders of what sets this area apart. From the generosity shown in supporting families across Hampden County to the powerful stories shared by individuals building businesses, careers, and new lives here, these moments reflect the compassion and resilience that continue to define Western Massachusetts.

As we look ahead, there’s no shortage of opportunities to stay connected:

Beacon Hill Summit
April 30 | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Massachusetts State House, Boston
We’re heading to Boston for our Annual Beacon Hill Summit at the Massachusetts State House, hosted by Senator Adam Gomez and Representative Carlos Gonzalez. If you’ve ever wanted a seat at the table with state leaders, this is it. It’s a full day of meaningful conversations and a chance to make your voice heard.

Mayor’s Forum
May 7 | 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM | Marriott Springfield Downtown
We bring the conversation a little closer to home with our Mayor’s Forum. Ever wonder what life is really like for our region’s mayors beyond the headlines? This is your chance to hear it firsthand, with honest perspectives, big-picture thinking, and a few insights you won’t get anywhere else.

Fire & Ice Reception
May 21 | 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM | Marriott Springfield Downtown
Our Fire & Ice Reception brings the perfect mix of flavor and fun to networking. Think shaken or stirred, a rooftop backdrop, and an atmosphere that makes striking up a conversation feel easy. Between the cocktails, bites, and buzz of the room, you’ll also have the chance to connect with nonprofit organizations doing meaningful work across the area.

Springfield Regional Chamber Spotlight and Annual Meeting
June 10 | 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM | MGM Springfield
Think of this as our annual highlight reel, with a few well-earned standing ovations along the way. We’ll celebrate our members, elect our Board of Directors, and recognize individuals making a real impact, including this year’s Richard J. Moriarty Citizen of the Year. It’s an evening that brings together reflection, recognition, and a look ahead at what’s next.

June Rise & Shine Breakfast: Barnes Air National Guard Base
June 26 | 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM | Barnes Air National Guard Base, Westfield
We’re trading the usual breakfast setting for something a little more memorable. Coffee comes with a side of jets, perspective, and a closer look at one of the area’s most impactful assets. It’s not your average morning, and definitely one worth setting the alarm for.

April might keep us guessing, but one thing I know for sure is that the weeks ahead will be worth being part of. I hope to see you along the way.
